Parent Educator Partnerships, How Awareness Of Our Thoughts, Emotions and Actions Can Facilitate Positive Relationships.
There are a few important considerations to make while choosing the ideal childcare centre for your child. In this blog, we will examine ten attributes that have the potential to greatly impact your child’s early education:
1. Be aware of your thoughts and emotions.
When a concern arises, your thoughts about a situation can trigger an emotionally charged response. Rather than providing an immediate and potentially emotionally charged response, wait 24 hours, give yourself time to clarify your thoughts before raising your concerns.
2. Life is a mirror, what we project to others will be reflected to us.
A calm and measured response is the best approach. When we are calm, we are then more likely to receive a calm response from others. A good experience will maintain positive relationships, while a poor experience will result in a breakdown of the relationship. Ultimately, we are all working towards the best outcomes for children and families.
3. Emotional health and wellbeing.
It is important that our Educators have a positive state of mind, this is achieved in a respectful and happy work environment.
Speak positively about the centre and the wider community in both public and private. Greeting each other on arrival and saying farewell at the end of the day also makes for a positive partnership.
4. Positive role models for children
It is important for the emotional wellbeing of children, that they see positive relationships and communication being fostered between educators and their family.
5. We value continuous improvement.
Our Educator’s choose to view feedback and complaints as an opportunity to reflect upon their personal practice and the practices of our team. Families can actively participate in this process by bringing their concerns to our attention.
